Mental Health Support for the pupils of St Cecilia's Catholic Juniors

Our Mental Health Champions

Meet our Year 6 Mental Health Champions who are fully trained by Lucy from Merseyside Youth Association. The Mental Health champions are part of an exciting project developed in partnership with children across Liverpool, to train up groups of children within schools to be resilient champions, this project is called : ROCKET (Resilient, Open, Caring, Kind, Equal, Togetherness). ROCKET is a course that explores topics such as mental health and resilience, and some of the
things our champions explored were how we can help ourselves and our friends if we are feeling a little bit down, and also around the important of kindness. The  champions work with friends to share their ideas of how they think they can spread kindness and resilience across their school. Every week the Mental Health Champions will promote the ResiliANTS

( the characters from our whole school response to mental health ; ROAR) during assembly and support classes to become more aware of how to be resilient. The Mental Health Champions will be involved in promoting Mental Health Weeks and initiatives across the school; including our own school's well-being group which is made up of pupils, staff, parents and governors. We look forward to seeing the Mental health champions spread their good work across the school and community.

Some of our Mental Health Champions joined our well-being group today to share their brilliant ideas about how we can support the mental health of our school members and community.
