With You Always - Holy Communion
At St Cecilia's Catholic Primary School, we follow the 'With You Always' sacramental preparation programme.
Jesus spoke to them… ‘and know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.’ (Matthew 28:20)
Parents ‘…will be the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith. May they also be the best of teachers bearing witness to the faith by what they say and do…’ (Rite of Baptism)
Sacramental Preparation
Parents ‘…will be the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith. May they also be the best of teachers bearing witness to the faith by what they say and do…’ (Rite of Baptism)
In Year 4, children who have been baptised will be invited to join our sacramental programme to prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) and First Holy Communion.
Working together as a parish, school and family, we prepare the children for these important moments on their faith journey. The preparation programme includes a family treasure hunt in church and follow up sessions in school led by Deacon Ronnie and catechists, supported by school staff.
After the preparation, children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent and receive First Holy Communion in the summer.
Families are invited to Sunday Mass and are warmly welcomed into the parish community.
If you would like your child to be baptised, this can be arranged with Canon Conor after any Sunday Mass
